Cable Fix--not a tutorial, just proof that I did it!

Working on a rather large cabled piece, I found two errors when I was about 15 rows past the second. I was not going back. But this is not for me, so I had to fix it.  I had to really get up some nerve, and find quiet time during the day, with good light.  The light is particularly bright today because the sun is glaring off all the snow outside, making the kitchen well lit.

First, I practiced on my swatch:  The two errors are simply missed crossings, not wrong crossings, so I just practiced making a cable where there was none. I actually did two practice fixes.

 I identified the row in which the cable should be worked, and inserted dpns in the stitches of the row above and the row below. There are seven stitches involved in this cable.

 I snipped the center stitch of the cable row.

 I pulled out the seven stitches in the cable row, and you can't see this, but I arranged the stitches on the bottom needle in preparation for the cable, then used kitchener stitch to close up the gap.  I did duplicate stitch on either side, and wove in all ends.

And here's number two. A little trickier beause of the cable to the right, but not too bad.  If you do this, just stay calm!

This was actually a cable in the opposite direction.
