Sami Band

I finished off this band so that I could put some of my handspun on the loom. The band is 2.75 yards long. I used Harrisville Designs Shetland (natural) and School House products shetland (green). This was so fun--just worked on it a little here and there for a couple of weeks.

And that afghan is my first crochet project ever--63 squares to learn to crochet. My daughter already knows how to crochet, but she's working on this same pattern right now, and learning even more. I made mine nearly 25 years ago from the same hard copy.

Lyra is blocking!

Please click on the photos to see the enlarged image. It's hardly worth looking at these.

A few more finished projects.

Socks for the birthday boy. Early childhood is over!
Gnarled Oakwoods, in Hedgehog Fibres merino cashmere in Damned Nation. Gorgeous yarn!
Scarf for the birthday boy. Cascade Heritage handpaints.
Laceweight scarf for my sister. Viola merino lace and Gossamer Web silk cashmere merino lace. So soft and lovely!

I knit the sleeves for this sweater in a tube, then cut them open and seamed them. This boy outgrew the last two sweaters I knit for him before I finished them, so I made this one a few sizes too large, so he could grow into it. I think my plan succeeded. The blue/black is Teksrena Knitting wool, and the white is Harrisville Designs New England Shetland. Great yarn!
